Field Notes · Why
When your cards arrive, we hope…
Ten cards, one month. The card art is from our first proof deck.
Here's what we hope happens when a deck arrives:
- That it gets opened at the kitchen table, not alone in a bedroom. That somebody reads a card out loud because the fact on it is too good to keep to themselves. That there is a short, serious argument about which is stranger: a fish whose babies grow their eyes on stalks, or a bird that feeds its chicks milk.
- That the cards get kept. Sorted by continent one week and by "scary" the next. Thumbed at the corners. Carried to a grandparent's house to be explained at length, whether or not the grandparent asked.
- That a nine-year-old ends up knowing what a pangolin is, and being a little annoyed that you don't.
That's the whole idea. Our responsibility is to make them well.
Pre-orders for our first deck are open now.
Nothing is charged until about a week before your deck ships.
